The Forward Lean award is more than just a terrific pun. In fact, it’s a nod to all those amazing people out there in our space who see more than just snowboarding. Forward Lean is a celebration of all the people who are trying to build a world where they would like to live. And by doing that, they’re making our world a little better too. Here are the nominees:
Research and Development (RnD)

A progressive competition designed to bridge the gap between novice and elite-level female backcountry freestyle riders. By creating a space for emerging talent to gain experience in high-level terrain, RnD helps push progression while fostering confidence and technical skills in a part of snowboarding where women are often underrepresented. Technically Doing It (TDI)

A collective of BIPOC snowboarders from Europe, North America, and Canada, committed to building community and showcasing the unique culture of snowboarding. Through social content, events, and mentorship, TDI not only highlights the riding of underrepresented snowboarders but actively works to create opportunities, inspire the next generation, and make a lasting impact on the industry by increasing visibility and inclusion in the sport.
