Maybe Jake Durham hasn’t filmed your favorite video. But, chances are, he’s filmed some of your favorite snowboarders' favorite videos. Durham is always doing for the people who know what’s up and, in doing so, has generated quite a catalog of footage. For this week’s Shot List, Jake goes through his archive to find his five favorites. Enjoy.
Danimals—Line:
This spot is pretty small but I feel like we just were…we found a good way to film it. We just built a snake run, it was fun. Those House Call videos were always cool because it was just a winter of us doing whatever we wanted. Those rails are so tiny but it was just fun to film. And I think he only did it one time, I don’t think he did it a bunch. That was just the one he landed.
Danimals—C-Ledge:
This was the last trip we did for Sicky. Dan just got into this spot and actually did this like five or six times. He was just having fun with it. And once he got comfortable, Cole mentioned filming from this angle and I didn’t really understand it, but we tried it once and he kind of leaned back and I was like, Oh yeah, this is so good. It was just fun. Meyer made that…Meyer made a lot of stuff on that trip happen, but Meyer was with us and he had a generator and lights and I think even the cops showed up and they were like, oh it’s all good, you guys can do this it’s fine. And once that happened it was just…I mean we were there until two in the morning, three in the morning. I just love how he surfed it. And it’s just a dream spot, so crazy. That spot’s not there anymore, unfortunately. And when we first got there and looked at it I was like, I don’t know. I saw the vision but I was just like, I don’t know if this is going to happen. But he did it a bunch of times and Cole boardslid it and Joe hit it too. I’m super hyped that we did that.
Craig Cameron—Line:
I was trying to find a park edit because I liked filming park a lot, I still do. I think it’s really fun to be able to show a snowboarder riding in between two or three things, just how they flow around a park is really cool and it shows a lot about a snowboarder. I think this was maybe the winter after House Call, it may have been before but I had filmed a lot with Craig for a few years and I feel like we synced up a lot. He does like, front one on, five-forty off, and I feel like that’s a stinky trick but for some reason, it was so fun to film it. It was so hilarious to me. He was always just really fun to film and thought outside of the box, and was really clever with tricks.
Louif Paradis—Front Nose 270:
That was probably my first trip filming with Louif. During this video that Colton was making, I did a Japan trip with some people and I roomed with Louif and I remember thinking it was so sick. I mean, he’s legendary. And he just…his process and everything—and it was probably more loose on that trip because he was with us and it was more about the am riders, but it was really fun to film him. He was super dialed. I think that was the first clip we filmed maybe that whole clip, that front nose two-seventy.
Jed Anderson—Boardslide:
I’ve filmed a good amount with Jed and it’s always really sick. I had a hard time picking one but I think this one is, I don’t know—I didn’t film a lot for Rated R. Stark and Parrish filmed a lot but one of the trips I went on Jed wanted to do this and I just remember he did it really quick. I started at the door of this church and panned over which, normally I wouldn’t be that risky maybe, but this just worked out. Then I pan up a tree and it cuts to another tree clip. It’s just a clip that starts and ends really nice and it’s just a banger. And it’s Jed, he looks cool, he’s going fast. He did it really fast. A lot of the tricks he does are fast. I don’t know, it’s just sick filming with him.
