ZOOM IN: Natural Selection's New Super Session Format

  |   SLUSH STAFF

Well, The Duels are out. Kind of. Or maybe they’ve just… grown legs.
In the never-finished science experiment that is the Natural Selection Tour, the crew has officially announced “Super Sessions.” A looser, more open-ended way to decide who punches tickets to the finals in Revelstoke.

If this sounds familiar, that’s because we’ve seen a version of it before. After the 2023 Natural Selection wrapped, with leftover snow and heli time burning a hole in the budget, Travis Rice brought a handful of riders into the Selkirk–Tangiers and basically told them to go nuts on a wide-open canvas of snow. No brackets. No head-to-heads. Just riding. This year, that same spirit gets formalized—and now it actually matters.

Super Sessions will determine who moves on to the finals at Revelstoke, with three stops on the calendar:

Myoko, Japan
Miles Fallon // Mason Lemery // Takeru Otsuka // Matteo Massitti

Powder Mountain, Utah
Garrett Warnick // Brin Alexander // Blake Paul // one mystery spot

Journeymen Lodge, British Columbia
Enni Rukajärvi // Marissa Krawczak // Katie Kennedy // Stefi Luxton // one mystery spot

Let’s talk about “mystery spots.” Olympic qualification is very real, and riders hovering on the bubble are absolutely expected to enter the chat.

As for qualification specs, two mens riders from Japan and Powder Mountain will advance to the finals at Revelstoke, with one moving on from Journeymen. R&D will award the second women’s qualification push into Revelstoke.

Opening these Super Sessions up to more riders doesn’t muddy the waters—it sharpens them. More perspectives, more approaches, more ways to interpret the same piece of terrain. By the time Revelstoke rolls around, the finals won’t just be stacked, they’ll be earned, filtered through a process that rewards adaptability and confidence.  If the goal is the best possible final product, letting more riders into the room feels like common sense top us.

Super Sessions will premiere February 24, 2026 on Red Bull TV, with qualifying riders revealed within each episode. YETI Natural Selection Revelstoke broadcasts live on Red Bull TV for two days within the March 10-15 competition window.
