Mammoth Mountain Opening Day Announced for November 5th

  |   SLUSH STAFF

A recent dump of fresh snow and favorable snowmaking conditions have led Mammoth Mountain to open on Thursday, November 5th, 2026, over a week ahead of the previously scheduled opening. Mammoth's decision can be seen as the unofficial start to the winter season, and perhaps even an omen for a deep winter to come.

"Mother Nature has been kind to us with this past storm cycle dropping 9 to 15 inches of fresh snow over the weekend," said, Emily van Greuning, Communications Director, Mammoth Resorts. "Snowmaking teams have also been able to take full advantage of the colder temperatures over the past few days to get the mountain ready for an early opening. We have some of the best in the business working hard on all the necessary preparations and can't wait to see everyone for opening day on Thursday."
